Rumi embarked on a career in interior design after being inspired by the film sets in Los Angeles where she worked in the TV & Film industry. She studied Professional Level Interior Design at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). Starting out in Los Angeles, and continuing in London, she completed a post-graduate diploma course at The Inchbald School of Design and, after further trained in different design sectors including one of the most influential design studios in London, established Rumi Bunya Design in 2016.

It was not the high end products and million pounds homes that drew Rumi to design, but simply the creation of well thought out, well designed, beautiful spaces. Whether inspired by existing architecture or the clients’ individual tastes, her design is considered with meticulous attention to detail. She has successfully completed projects within budget, without having to compromise on style. The key to her method is to be prepared, but flexible. 

Rumi Bunya Design works both independently and together with architects and developers on projects throughout the UK. Our interior design service ranges from a single room to an entire property renovation. We maintain a hands on and friendly approach to all aspects of our services.

Rumi is a member of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) since 2021.
