Rumi Bunya Design is an architecture-led interior design studio based in the UK, continually refining our approach to create thoughtful, tailored spaces. Each project begins with curiosity and collaboration, resulting in homes that feel considered, authentic, and genuinely connected to the people who live in them.

Rumi’s perspective is shaped by an international life lived across Japan, Los Angeles, London, and the wider UK. Her design path began in Los Angeles, where the craft of film sets first sparked her interest in how spaces tell stories. She later trained at UCLA and The Inchbald School of Design, honing her approach through experience in several LA and London studios before formally establishing her practice in 2019.

What draws Rumi to design is not luxury for its own sake, but the creation of well-considered, beautifully crafted spaces. Whether guided by a building’s architecture or a homeowner’s sensibilities, her work is defined by meticulous detail, balanced composition, and a quiet sense of harmony. Her approach—prepared yet flexible—allows her to deliver elevated design solutions within agreed budgets, without compromising on vision or quality.

Today, Rumi Bunya Design works independently and alongside architects and developers across the UK, designing everything from single rooms to full-property transformations. We remain hands-on, warm, and committed to making the process clear, collaborative, and enjoyable.
As the studio grows, we are also excited to expand into boutique hotel, commercial, retail, and workplace projects—bringing the same considered, people-focused design approach to new environments.

Rumi is a member of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) since 2021.
